  • Eligible Amount
    Bill in installment limited to RMB account that has been out of the bill. The “eligible installment amount” of the Bill in installment is the minimum amount of the following three amount.
    - the full bill amount –the reimbursement amount billing cycle - the current outstanding minimum payments
    - The current consumer loanss - the current outstanding minimum payments
    Permanent lines - (The current total deal in installment + Bill in installment + Cash installment of the outstanding balance)
    The cardholder can put forward a full installment installment or part of the amount for the “eligible installment amount” For details, please refer to terms.

  • Service Charge

  • What kinds of transactions can be applied for transaction installment?
    Eligible Citibank RMB credit cardholder must apply the installment with a minimum spending over RMB 500. However, the following transactions can't be applied for Transaction Installment:
    • Transactions with existing installment plan (including but not limited to transaction installment plan, statement balance installment plan and cash installment plan).
    • Disputed transactions of which their authenticity have been questioned by the cardholder; cash advance transactions; interests and all service fees (such as credit card annual fees, cash advance transaction fees, late fees, over limit fees, and other credit card charges) charged in accordance with the provisions in the bank's credit card user agreement, regulations and interest rate tables.
    • Transactions that have not been posted to the cardholder’s account or have been billed in the cardholder's statement.
    • Transactions the amount of which exceeds Current balance for consumption. Current balance for consumption refers to any outstanding balance for consumption of all accounts (including both the primary and supplementary card accounts) under the primary cardholder as of the application date of the transaction installment plan, excluding any outstanding balance for cash advance, transaction installment, statement installment, cash installment or annual fee, service fee or interests.
    • Transactions made under USD credit cards.
    • Other transactions specified by Citibank.
  • What kinds of statements are eligible for statement balance installment?

    Your RMB statement is eligible for statement balance installment. USD statement is currently not eligible for statement balance installment.
    When the full bill amount after deducting the minimum payment amount is RMB 1,000 or more, the statement is eligible for statement balance installment. Choose the "amount eligible for installment" when you apply for statement balance installment via the Citibank Credit Card 24-hour Customer Service Hotline.

  • Will my credit limit be affected upon successful application of an installment plan, and how my credit limit release?

    The installment principal will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account upon approval of the application. The credit limit will be restored by the amount of payment of principal made to the account. The service fee will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account on each statement date by the amount of service fee payable per tenor. The credit limit will be restored by the amount of payment of service fee made to the account.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum amount for installment plan?

    The minimum amount for Transaction Installment is RMB 500 and the minimum amount for statement balance installment is RMB 1,000. The maximum amount shall not exceed your credit limit and cannot exceed RMB 300,000. Depositing cash into your credit card account or temporarily raising your credit limit will not raise the maximum amount of the installment plan.

  • How is the amount payable per tenor in the installment plan calculated?

    “Amount payable per tenor” = (principal amount + total service fee) / installment tenors. Total service fee = (service fee rate  * principal amount * installment tenors). Citibank charges service fee based on “monthly service fee rate ” (equivalent “effective annualized percentage rate” (effective APR) will be disclosed to the cardholder simultaneously). Effective APR is the annualized fee rate which reflects the real capital cost. Citibank will apportion service fee and principal payable of each installment, based on outstanding principal and effective APR.

  • Can the installment be early paid off?

    You may settle the outstanding installment amount before the end of your installment period. The remaining principal and service charge fee will listed in your account and shown in your latest statement.

  • Upon successful application of statement balance installment, is there still a need to make payment for the current statement?

    Even if you have applied for installment for the full amount in the statement, you will still have to pay the minimum payment amount before the payment due date of the current statement; otherwise, you will be charged for the corresponding late fee and interest.

  • Do I have to settle the installment when I cancel the credit card?

    The Cardholder must settle the outstanding installment amount before cancelling the card.

Terms and Conditions:

Terms and Conditions of the Transaction Equal Payment Plan (TEPP)
1. The primary cardholder of Citibank Credit Card (hereinafter referred to as the "cardholder") may apply for the Citibank Credit Card Transaction Equal Payment Plan, (hereinafter referred to as “TEPP”) Upon approval, the cardholder shall make monthly repayments with monthly service fee on the transaction within the agreed period. TEPP is not applicable to the Citibank corporate card.

2. These Terms and Conditions apply to a request made by eligible cardholder for TEPP, either through telephone call, online banking, SMS or any other channel permitted by the bank.

3. Application for TEPP must be made by the primary cardholder. The primary cardholder may apply for TEPP for transaction amount on the primary and supplementary cards under his/her account. The cardholders are not eligible for TEPP if the sum of credit used of all accounts under the primary cardholder exceeds his/her credit limit.

4. The cardholder may apply for the TEPP only if the following conditions for the single transaction are met:
4.1. If cardholder applies a TEPP (including one transaction or more transactions), the applied amount of TEPP shall be more than RMB 500 (inclusive) and less than RMB 300,000 (inclusive). The sum of new applied TEPP amount and outstanding transaction installment, outstanding statement installment and outstanding cash installment amount of the cardholder should not exceed his/her permanent credit limit.
4.2. The following transaction types are not eligible for TEPP:

  • Transactions with existing installment plan (including but not limited to transaction installment plan, statement balance installment plan and cash installment plan).
  • Disputed transactions of which their authenticity have been questioned by the cardholder; cash advance transactions; interests and all service fees (such as credit card annual fees, cash advance transaction fees, late fees, over limit fees, and other credit card charges) charged in accordance with the provisions in the bank's credit card user agreement, regulations and interest rate tables.
  • Transactions that have not been posted to the cardholder’s account or have been billed in the cardholder's statement.
  • Transactions the amount of which exceeds Current balance for consumption. Current balance for consumption refers to any outstanding balance for consumption of all accounts (including both the primary and supplementary card accounts) under the primary cardholder as of the application date of the transaction installment plan, excluding any outstanding balance for cash advance, transaction installment, statement installment, cash installment or annual fee, service fee or interests.
  • Transactions made under USD credit cards.
  • Other transactions specified by Citibank.

5. Effective application period of TEPP
The cardholder may apply for single TEPP from the date the credit card transaction is posted (usually 3 working days after the transaction) up till 5 working days before the next statement date. TEPP takes immediate effect upon successful application by the cardholder.

6. Calculation of "principal amount of TEPP"
The amount of the transaction that customer apply for the TEPP will be the principal amount of the TEPP. Cardholder cannot apply partial amount of any single transaction as the installment principal.

7. "Installment tenors" refers to the number of installments opted by the cardholder. The cardholder may apply for 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24-month installment or such other tenors agreed between the bank and the cardholder.

8. "Service fee rate for TEPP" refers to the rate of service fee payable by the cardholder when apply for TEPP. This rate is set by Citibank. Please refer to the relevant Credit Card rates table published on the Citibank website for the specific rate. Before making each application, the cardholder should refer to the latest "Service fee rate for transaction installment plan" published on the Citibank website at the time of the cardholder's application. The service fee rate for each transaction installment plan shall apply up till the end of the installment period. The bank may offer preferential "service fee rate for TEPP" to the cardholder based on his/her credit history.

9. Amount payable per tenor
Amount payable per tenor or installment amount that shows on each statement shall prevail. Total service fee of TEPP = (service fee rate for TEPP * TEPP principal amount * installment tenors). Citibank charges total service fee based on “service fee rate for TEPP” and the equivalent effective annualized percentage rate hereinafter called “effective APR” will be disclosed to the cardholder simultaneously. Effective APR is the annualized fee rate which reflects the real cost of capital. Citibank will apportion service fee and principal payable of each installment, based on outstanding principal and effective APR. Except for the last installment, the principal amount and service fee of each installment are rounded to the nearest cent. The difference in amount for all installments after rounding to the nearest cent will be adjusted in the last installment.

10. Billing of "amount payable per tenor"
1)Upon successful application of the TEPP and before the end of the installment period, the system will automatically bill the "amount payable per tenor" in the cardholder's account on every statement date.

2)The cardholder's "amount payable per tenor" will be included in the minimum due amount for the current period. If the cardholder fails to pay the minimum due amount for the period by the due date, Citibank will impose corresponding late fee and interest as stipulated in the provisions of the "Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement".

11. Other matters pertaining to TEPP
1)The installment tenors and principal amount cannot be changed upon the cardholder's successful application of TEPP. Outstanding installment balance shall not be eligible for further installment plan.

2)If the accumulative amount of transaction installment and TEPP in current cycle exceeds last statement balance, cardholder should pay the minimum due amount before he or she could apply for another TEPP.

3)The cardholder may apply for early pay-off of outstanding installment balance. Upon approval by Citibank, the cardholder shall pay in full the outstanding installment balance and service fee payable for the remaining tenors. Any service fee that has been paid shall not be refunded.

4)The installment principal will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account upon approval of the application. The credit limit will be restored by the amount of payment made to the account. The service fee will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account on each statement date by the amount of service fee payable per tenor.

5)Citibank reserves the right to decide, based on its internal business policies and independent business judgment, whether to approve an application for TEPP.

6)In the event that the cardholder's Citibank Credit Card is suspended, expired and not renewed, or the cardholder incurs a reduction in credit limit (Citibank has right of independent judgment to reduce credit limit), non-performing debt, or violation of Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement or regulations, the cardholder's outstanding transaction installments shall become fully due without specific notification by Citibank. The cardholder shall pay in full, all outstanding amount including without limitation, principal amount and service fees for the remaining tenors (service fee standard remains unchanged for the installment payment), and all late payment fees and interests payable in accordance with the bank's credit card user agreement, which will be calculated into the amount payable in the current statement of the cardholder.

7)For transaction that has been successfully approved for TEPP, any transaction under such TEPP that undergoes return processing will not affect the validity of the TEPP. The TEPP will proceed as per normal.

12. If the cardholder wants to cancel his/her credit card during the installment, he/she must first pay off all outstanding TEPP balances before applying for cancellation of the credit card.

13. By agreeing to apply for the Citibank Credit Card TEPP , the cardholder is deemed to have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound by them.

14. Citibank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, and will duly notify the cardholder of such amendment. Please refer to "Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement" for details.

15. These Terms and Conditions are made in both English and Chinese versions. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the Chinese version shall prevail.

16. Matters not covered by these Terms and Conditions of the TEPP shall be governed by the Charters of Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card), Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement and applicable laws and regulations.

Terms and Conditions of the Statement Equal Payment Plan (SEPP)

  1. The Primary cardholder of Citibank Credit Card (hereinafter referred to as the "cardholder") may apply for the Citibank Credit Card “Statement Equal Payment Plan” (hereinafter referred to as "SEPP") for the full statement amount in his/her statement after it is issued. Upon approval, the cardholder shall make monthly repayments and monthly service fee on the said transaction within the agreed term. SEPP is not applicable to the Citibank corporate card.
  2. These Terms and Conditions apply to a request made by eligible cardholder for SEPP, either through telephone call, online banking, and any channels permitted by the bank.
  3. SEPP is only applicable to RMB account statement that has been issued. The "amount eligible for installment” of SEPP is the lower of

    –“Statement beginning balance – Cycle to date payments - Current minimum due” OR,
    –“Current balance for consumption* – Current minimum Due” OR.
    –“Permanent credit limit - Total outstanding installments including a. transaction installment; b. statement installment; c. cash installment balance.
    (*Current balance for consumption refers to any outstanding balance for consumption of all accounts (including both the primary and supplementary card accounts) under the primary cardholder as of the application date of the SEPP, excluding any outstanding balance for cash advance, transaction installment, statement installment, cash installment or annual fee, service fee or interests.)
    The cardholder may apply for full or partial installment for the "amount eligible for installment". The cardholders are not eligible for SEPP if the sum of credit used of all accounts under the primary cardholder exceeds his/her credit limit.

  4. Application for SEPP must be made by the primary cardholder of Citibank Credit Card. The primary cardholder may apply for SEPP plan for statements under his/her account. If the cardholder has several Citibank credit card products, or if he/she possess both the Citibank Rewards Card and Citibank Premier Miles Card simultaneously, and wish to apply for SEPP, he/she will need to make separate application for each of these credit cards.
  5. Application for SEPP
    1) The primary cardholder may apply for SEPP from the next day following the date of the issuance of the statement and up to 5 working days before the payment due date of the statement.

    2)The primary cardholder of Citibank Credit Card may apply for the SEPP via the Citibank Credit Card 24-hour Customer Service Hotline, Citibank online banking,or any other channels permitted by Citibank.

    3) Each statement cycle shall be eligible for only one SEPP. Two consecutive SEPP applications on the same credit card product must be separated by at least 30 days.

    4) By agreeing to apply for the Citibank Credit Card SEPP, the cardholder is deemed to have read and understood the current terms and conditions and agrees to be bound by them.
  6. The amount opted by the cardholder in his/her application for SEPP shall be the SEPP principal amount .. This principal amount must be RMB 1,000 or more and less than RMB 300,000 (inclusive).
  7. "Installment tenor" refers to the number of installments opted by the cardholder for repayment of the principal amount. The cardholder may apply for 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24-month installment or such other tenors agreed between the bank and the cardholder.
  8. "Service fee rate for SEPP refers to the rate of service fee payable by the cardholder when applying for the SEPP. This rate is set by Citibank. Please refer to the relevant Credit Card rates table published on the Citibank website for the specific rate. Before making each application, the cardholder should refer to the latest "service fee rate for SEPP" published on the Citibank website at the time of the cardholder's application. The bank may offer preferential "service fee rate for SEPP" to the cardholder based on his/her credit history.
  9. Amount payable per tenor

If the cardholder fails to pay the minimum due amount for the period by the due date, Citibank will impose corresponding late fee and interest as stipulated in the provisions of the "Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement".
  11. Other matters pertaining to statement balance installment plan
    1) The installment tenors and principal amount cannot be changed upon the cardholder's successful application of SEPP.

    2) If the accumulative amount of transaction installment and SEPP in current cycle exceeds last statement balance, cardholder should pay the minimum due amount before he or she could apply for another SEPP.

    3) The cardholder may apply for early payoff of outstanding installment balance. Upon approval by Citibank, the cardholder shall settle in full, the outstanding installment balance and service fee payable for the remaining tenors. Any service fee that has been paid may not be refunded.

    4) The installment principal will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account upon approval of the application. The credit limit will be restored by the amount of payment made to the account. The service fee will be deducted from the available credit limit of the account on each statement date by the amount of service fee payable per tenor.

    5) Citibank reserves the right to decide, based on its internal business policies and independent business judgment, whether to approve an application for SEPP.

    6) The cardholder applying for SEPP shall settle the minimum due amount in the current statement before its due date. If the cardholder fails to settle the minimum due before the next statement date, Citibank has the right to terminate the cardholder's application for SEPP for the said statement and demand a full settlement of the statement's principal and service fees for the remaining tenors.

    7) In the event that the cardholder's Citibank Credit Card is suspended, expired and not renewed, or the cardholder incurs a reduction in credit limit (Citibank has right of independent judgment to reduce credit limit), non-performing debt, or violation of Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement or regulations, the cardholder's outstanding statement balance installments shall become fully due without specific notification by Citibank. The cardholder shall pay in full all outstanding amount, including without limitation, principal amount and service fees for the remaining tenors (service fee standard remains unchanged for the installment payment), and all late payment fees and interests payable in accordance with the bank's credit card user agreement, which will be calculated into the amount payable in the current statement of the cardholder.

    8) For statement that has been successfully approved for SEPP, any transaction under such statement that undergoes return processing will not affect the validity of the SEPP. The SEPP will proceed as per normal.
  12. If the cardholder wants to cancel his/her credit card during the repayment period, he/she must first settle all outstanding statement balance installment balances before applying for cancellation of the credit card.
  13. Citibank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, and notify the cardholder of such amendment in accordance with the modes of notification stipulated in the "Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement".
  14. These Terms and Conditions are made in both English and Chinese versions. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
  15. Matters not covered by these Terms and Conditions, shall be governed by the Charters of Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card), Citibank Credit Card (Personal Card) User Agreement and applicable laws and regulations.
